These days, many of us rarely see nature in its true wildness except on television or up on the movie screen. Award-winning photographer and noted conservationist Palmer (California Wild) shows us exactly what we have been missing in this large and glossy visual and textual celebration of American rivers. Over 200 photographs, with larger pictures spanning two full pages, reveal both the similarities and the differences among hundreds of bodies of water in our large and varied country.
