Synopsis

Poet Michael O Brien, a native of Granville, New York, has spent most of his life living in New York City where he has worked as librarian, teacher and editor. His first book of poetry, The Summer Poems, was published by the Eventorium Muse, a quarterly poetry journal that began in the 1960s.

He has produced nine volumes of poetry, including Sills: Selected Poems (Zoland Books), and At Schoodic: Poems and Drawings, with Joan Farber, (Cairn Editions). Michael has received many honors, including fellowships at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France. He has taught poetry and writing at Hunter and Brooklyn Colleges in New York.
