School Library Journal
Gr 4-7-Although environmental books are flooding the market, these two volumes should float to the top. They are competently researched, well written, and provide basic information on each ecosystem, followed by detailed pages on specific animals and plants that are endangered. Most importantly, within each discussion, concrete suggestions are given as to what children can do to help save forest and marine creatures. A number of addresses for various wildlife organizations and 12 pages of full-color photographs are included. These titles combine the facts in Lynn Stone's Ecozones (Rourke, 1988) with the activity suggestions in Linda Schwartz's Earth Book for Kids (Learning Works, 1990). Two fine additions to enhance ecology shelves.-Amy Nunley, Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, OHBook Details
