A part of the "Let's See Library" series, this book takes a look at why and how people save money. A useful and important skill, learning how to save shows children ways to make the most of their money. Children read how banks help people save money. Rosinsky introduces the reader to terms such as deposits, withdrawals, statements, interest, investing and loans. Also discussed are the ways in which people can save money through savings and loans associations, bonds and credit unions. As with her other books, Rosinsky takes a brief look at the way technology and computers have affected and will continue to affect our lives. With regards to savings she mentions automated teller machines and the ways in which people are allowed to access their account information from home computers. Filled with colorful photographs this book is child friendly as it provides a table of contents, a glossary and an index. There are also interesting facts related to the topic at the end of the book. Additionally the author provides the readers with websites, books and the names of other resources where they can learn more about this topic. The print is large and suitable for early readers. New vocabulary words appear in bold the first time they are mentioned, which can be helpful when building vocabulary. As a classroom book it could be used as a resource for a math, social studies or language arts lesson.
