PreS-Gr 3-This contemporary Christian children's recording bases its 16 tracks on Bible verses taken from the New International Version of the Holy Bible. A chorus of children sing cuts based on a specific verse, such as John 3:16 ("For God So Loved the World"), or Luke 6:31 ("Do to Others as You Would Have Them Do to You.") The recording's title is a bit misleading, though, as the songs imitate the teaching of Bible verses, but do not follow the Bible text accurately, as would be necessary for Bible memory work. Some tracks use both narration and music to deliver the song's message. Additionally, two of the tracks teach the names of the books of the Bible. The cherubic child-vocalists are accompanied by saxophone, flute, clarinet, guitar and keyboard, providing a pleasing, polished presentation. The scope of this recording limits its audience. Adults who work with children in a church setting may find the title most useful, although children may tire of the narratives "interrupting" their songs.
