Sea Monster

A mesmerizing new picture book about a boy who is lost at sea until some unexpected help arrives to save him.

The sea monster lives down at the bottom of the ocean but one day he sits among the rocks on the shore and watches a boy and his little dog playing in the rock pools. Suddenly, the current carries the boy’s toy boat out among the waves and when he tries to reach it the boy is swept far out to sea. An old fisherman tries to rescue him and receives help from an unexpected quarter.

Chris Wormell was the winner of the Ragazza Prize at Bologna in 1991. His book Two Frogs was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and was awarded the Nestlé Smarties Book Bronze Medal Prize for Ages 5 and under.
