About the Author, Steven Brooke

Steven Brooke is an internationally acclaimed architectural photographer. He is the recipient of the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome and three Graham Foundation grants, in addition to having received the National Honor Award for Photography from the American Institute of Architects, the highest award in the field of architectural photography. A fellow with the American Academy in Rome and Albright Institute in Jerusalem, he is an adjunct professor in the department of architecture at the University of Miami in Florida.
Brooke is the author of Views of Rome and Views of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. His beautiful, detailed photographs also grace the pages of The Majesty of St. Augustine, The Majesty of Natchez, Seaside Picket Fences, The Gardens of Florida, Louisiana Gardens, and Historic Washington, Arkansas, all published by Pelican. He lives in Miami with his wife, architect Suzanne Martinson, and their son, Miles.

Steven Brooke, an internationally acclaimed architectural photographer, was awarded the Rome Prize in 1991 and is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome. He received the National Honor Award for Photography from the American Institute of Architects, the highest award in the field of architectural photography. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Brooke is an adjunct professor in the University of Miami’s department of architecture. He lives in Miami with his wife, architect Suzanne Martinson, and his son, Miles Samuel Brooke.
