This book of marvelous photographs features an introduction by Chris Kratt and Martin Kratt of the PBS program, Kratt's Creatures. It was developed by an organization called SHAKTI for Children, and a portion of all proceeds are donated to the Global Fund for Children. The beautiful full-color photographs were contributed by Peace Corps volunteers and show images of youngsters from all over the world. They are engaged in everyday activities such as playing, going to school, hanging out with friends and family, and so forth. Every image portrays children as happy and active, and the text stresses the universal humanity that lies beneath our differences. A map near the front shows all of the countries represented in the book: Canada, Bolivia, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Poland, and Mozambique. Additional information, again focused on our commonality as a global community, is offered on the final two or three pages. The entire book is nicely edited and laid out. An excellent addition to any collection. M.O.B. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
