About the Author, Lin Pardey

Lin Pardey has been caring for crews on boats of various types and sizes for more than 30 years. With Larry, she has accumulated sea miles that equal more than five world circumnaviagations. As a couple, they have delivered boats and cared for hired crew, raced under sail, and worked on commercial fishing boats. Their other 11 books include The Capable Cruiser, The Self-Sufficient Sailor and Storm Tactics Handbook. Much of this book is about storms. Those contemplating anything more difficult than an armchair voyage ought to buy this book. Most people faced with such a situation sincerely believe they will die. Most dont, but knowing how to make oneself reasonably comfortable throughout the ordeal is a blessing not to be missed. --
