About the Author, Diana Bartley

Deborah Haralson (MCSE, MCP+I, Server+) has been a computer geek since elementary school, learning Basic programming on her father's Commodore VIC20. While earning her engineering degree, she discovered that her true passion was IT and began working for Windows, DOS, and Macintosh network clients, quickly graduating to network servers and WAN technologies. With more than ten years of IT experience, she has worked for companies such as Honeywell, MicroAge, Moon Valley Software, and Mastering Computers. Along the way she has become proficient in a wide array of hardware, software applications, operating systems, and both Windows and Novell networking technologies. Apart from an occasional stint as a PBX and ACD administrative coordinator, DBA, trainer, Webmaster, and application programmer, Deborah is currently working as an independent consultant in the IT industry.

Jeff Haralson was born in in Germany to American parents while his father served in the United States Air Force. He started his career working at Honeywell as a systems programmer and administrator. Jeff quickly established himself as an accomplished hardware programmer, working on projects such as the MD-11 aircraft, Space Shuttle, Hubble Space Telescope, and Space Station Freedom. With this background, Jeff is uniquely qualified to speak and teach on the topics of PC and server evolution and hardware. Jeff eventually moved on as a consultant, programming business applications for companies such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Motorola, and the US Army's Electronic Proving Grounds. Jeff's passion and talents remain in hardware, and he currently works for ConsultNet at Prolink. Jeff can be reached at [email protected].
