Overview

Japan is about to overtake America to become No 1 in information technology. This book tells the remarkable story of how the Japanese did it, and reveals the techniques Japanese companies have used to diplace American and European manufacturers from this critically important industry.

This enthralling book by one of the world's leading authorities on the IT industry brings together for the first time the different elements of the frightening story of Japan's conquest of information technology. If America and Europe continue on their present course and pursue business-as-usual policies, says Tom Forester, then by far the greater part of the IT industry will slip inexorably into the hands of the Japanese, and Japan's economic triumph over the West will be complete.

Editorials

From the Publisher

"Forester's book adds yet another warning on America's global competitive position. We can agree or disagree with his analysis, but we cannot lightly dismiss the facts that he has so persuasively presented." Ian M Ross, President emeritus, AT & T Bell Laboratories

"Tom Forester has brilliantly pieced together seemingly unrelated Japanese actions to show that their cumulative impact spells certain doom for the American IT industry. Anyone involved in the high-tech industry should read this book, as it shows the serious Japanese desire for technological and market supremacy." Michael C Sekora, President, Technology Strategic Planning, Inc.

"Silicon Samurai is a must read for anyone intersted in the economics of high technology." Clyde V Prestowitz, President, Economic STrategy Institute, Washington D. C.
