Overview

Simulation software tools have changed from special purpose programming languages to interactive PC systems one of which, called AIM, was developed by the Pritsker Corporation in alliance with IBM and is highlighted in this book for allowing simulation modellers to speak in manufacturing rather than computer terms. The book gives a balanced account of various skills which the practising simulation analyst must possess for successful modelling, regardless of which system is employed. As well as modelling itself, these include aspects of statistics, queuing theory and experimentation to which suitable references for deeper study are given.
