About the Author, O. Henry

O. Henry, (1862–1910) was born William Sydney Porter. In his honor, The O. Henry Award is given annually to outstanding short stories of the year. A prolific short story writer, he is admired for his playful tone, and celebrated for his surprise “twist” endings. Among his works are Four Million, and Cabbages and Kings.
