About the Author, Kenneth Libbrecht

Kenneth Libbrecht is an executive officer of physics at CalTech and the pre-eminent snow-crystal researcher. He has a Ph.D. in physics. Patricia Rasmussen’s snow-crystal photography has been used in a variety of mediums, including science and math curriculums, video productions, company logos, Christmas cards, and in an educational TV program.
