An endearing little creature referred to as "Something Else" lives all by himself and, as his name suggests, is different from others. He eats different foods, plays different games, and looks different. In the beginning of the book, he wants to be like everyone else, and tries, but just can't be and is ostracized for his differences. Then, along comes another creature that is also different than all others. Together, they discover that being "different" isn't so bad, and even has some advantages. The messages of the story are clear, and young children will learn a bit about accepting those who look, or act, differently than themselves.
