This reader was touched by the struggle Sophie faced; to follow her heart or to bow to the decisions of her father. The sense of small-town drama and kinship is well portrayed; Sophie's sense of "smothering" was readily apparent and her decision to run away with her love is quite believable. Well researched historical detail brought Turn-of-the-Century America to life; allowing this reader to become a part of the story with all of its triumphs and tragedies. A moving addition to the DAUGHTERS OF BLESSING series; this reader was genuinely impressed.
