School Library Journal

Gr 1-4-- Those who enjoyed Snakey Riddles 1990, Fishy Riddles 1983, and Buggy Riddles 1986, all Dial will line up for this easy reader. The riddles are sure to bring groans of enjoyment to primary-grade children and even bigger groans from adults who share them. The book is filled with clever word play and humor. The brightly colored cartoons, many of which are set against the black backdrops of outer space, are just right. The elephant in a space suit is a classic. Answers are given directly below the riddles, which unfortunately doesn't allow readers to ponder the possiblities before discovering the punch lines. Still, this is a very funny, well-illustrated collection that is attractively formatted. --Sharron McElmeel, Cedar Rapids Community Schools, IA
