Synopsis
As a young Christian I was invited to attend a meeting where so-called sign gifts and speaking in tongues were practised. I left the meeting totally deflated and troubled as I thought that if these people really do have the gift of tongues why am I not able to exercise it as well? Afterwards, I joined a sound Bible-teaching church and a copy of this book, Spiritual Renewal, was given to me. It was of great benefit, answering all the questions that had been raised bymyexperiences. Today, Charismatic teaching is still present with us and may even be on the increase, so I thoroughly recommend this book to all believers because our young people need spiritual guidance and our elders and teachers need to be able to counter this unhelpful teaching and practice.
