From Barnes & Noble

The Barnes & Noble Review
A 450-page book about SQL Server 7 backup and recovery? Especially given that Microsoft has made the actual backup and recovery process easier than it's ever been? Heck, yes. And if you're staking your business on SQL Server 7 databases, you really need this book.

You need it because Anil Desai doesn't simply cover the mechanics. (Though the mechanics have never been covered with more detail or clarity. —and there's more to the mechanics than you might have realized, including Transact-SQL commands for creating custom jobs, multiserver administration, and the challenge of getting everything done within an ever-narrowing backup window.)

You need it because Desai covers the entire process of protecting your SQL Server 7 data—from evaluating your requirements through planning, selecting disks, UPSs, media, third-party software solutions, and more.

There's more: Desai covers SQL Server 7 replication across multiple servers; partitioning; clustering, and other advanced techniques. SQL SERVER 7 BACKUP & RECOVERY also offers four fictional case studies showing how companies of varying sizes can implement cost-effective, reliable data protection.

So, it's 10 pm. Do you know where your SQL Server data is?
