About the Author, Barry Mitchell

Barry Mitchell is a reader in criminal justice at Coventry University. He has completed several empirical and theoretical studies and has published numerous articles on criminal justice and sentencing. Salim Farrar is a lecturer in law at Manchester University where he specialises in comparative criminal justice. He has published on the history of the English criminal process and on the law of evidence in Malaysia.
