Gr 7-10-Filled with color photos, text boxes, and sidebars, these slim volumes are likely to attract browsers. In each book, a brief introduction provides readers with a quick overview of the topic. Four to six chapters featuring bold subtitles and bulleted lists follow. The authors define the condition, drug, or state and move on to a discussion of how it affects the body. Information and advice on how individuals are physically and emotionally affected and ways to help others is also included. Illustrations include anatomical diagrams. While the full-color photographs appear staged and generally do not add information, they are likely to hold readers' attention.
