Overview

"Steven Holl was born in 1947 and graduated in architecture from the University of Washington; he completed his training in Italy (1970) and at the Architectural Association School in London (1976), Intertwining (New York, 1996) and Written in Water (Basel, 2002). They embody his contribution to discussion of the current significance of architectural practice. Since 1976 he has run the studio that bears his name in New York, and in the last fifteen years he has emerged as one of the leading figures in international architecture." The book is completed with a chronology of all of Holl's works, a biography and a bibliography.
