Mary became a servant of God by bearing the miraculous Christ child even though she could have been ridiculed because she was a virgin. John the Baptist preached in the wilderness telling people about Jesus. Peter jumped into the sea so he could walk on water to Jesus. Mary Magdalene was the first to see and speak to the resurrected Christ. Stephen was stoned while on his knees praying to God. Saul who persecuted Christians changed and began to tell others about the Christ he once spoke against. These biblical saints and others of the Christian faith have given of themselves to help others and many have given their lives for their beliefs. Written in story-like form so that it is easily understood by children, the book's colorful illustrations help the reader to see each story more clearly. This book would be an asset in a Sunday school class, a religious class, or just to get to know more about the faithful people in this book. 2004, Lions Children's Books, Ages 10 to 12.
