Overview

Develop strength, power, coordination, balance, and core stability using the medicine ball and stability ball exercises included in Strength Ball Training. Preferred by elite athletes, fitness experts, and strength and conditioning specialists, these exercises train the body as a linked system rather than targeting muscles in isolation.

Exercises start with the core, where most movements are initiated, and then move out to the periphery, combining strength and balance in all the major muscle groups and the supporting muscles. And the enclosed companion DVD shows you how to perform the most complex and advanced exercises.

Strength Ball Training also includes a sample 16-week program with an excellent array of strength, flexibility, and balance challenges that may also be customized to design your own strength ball program.

Synopsis

You can't develop functional strength without stability. Written by strength and conditioning experts, Strength Ball Training shows you how to combine Swiss ball and medicine ball exercises to develop greater strength and stability, reduce the risk of injury, and improve balance. The book describes how to incorporate the balls into a program, and it provides hundreds of exercise variations to make training fun and interesting. Strength Ball Training presents 69 exercises that target all the major muscle groups including the shoulders and upper back; biceps, triceps, and forearms; chest; abs and lower back; and legs and hips. More than 140 photos show the precise steps in performing each exercise. If you're looking for a guide to the most effective way to enhance traditional training methods, get results with Strength Ball Training.
