Overview

"It all started when Ron Rozelle and his friend Bill Cornwell, the publisher of their hometown newspaper The Brazosport Facts, met for their annual lunch. This yearly rite is characterized by Bill's interest to know the current book Ron is writing and by Ron's eagerness to learn about whatever local topics are hot at the time. But during this one lunch, they agreed that it might not be such a terrible idea for Ron to try his hand at a weekly column. At the time, because he was beginning a hefty novel that involved a hit man, redemption, and more rough and tumble action than he had juggled in six previous books, he saw this as an opportunity both to allow his imagination to wander wherever it pleased away from that big project and to flex his writing muscles." And so, it started. Each week, readers would open their Sunday morning papers to find a little corner devoted to whatever topic was at hand. Back in Oakwood, a little East Texas town where he was raised, having a cup of coffee with friends was a cherished event where participants would confer about any and all topics. It is with this open, conversational charm that he invites us to join him as he covers such diverse topics as wizards, geese, holidays, loss, John Wayne, his feline quartet, and sandwiches.
