Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

Bizarro and his world were all new to me. It appears that he tries to help but does everything backwards. It is up to Superman to set it all straight and get this menace back to his own world. The characters are introduced on the initial spread. Superman, aka Clark Kent, hears a cat's scared cry and discovers a strange man uprooting a tree to save it from the cat. Superman watches this bizarre action and decides that he had better follow to see what else this fellow is up to. In order to help put out a fire, Bizarro lifts and throws the fire truck into the flamesβ€”that just creates a bigger and more dangerous fire and it takes an icy breath from Superman to quench the flames. How much more trouble can Bizarro cause? Well, he manages to practically wipe out Metropolis and is finally convinced that he is needed on his own world and not earth. The comic book characters will appeal to fans and this early reader is a level 2 book in the "I Can Read!" series. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
