Synopsis
This work discusses a method of engaging in philosophy with children, "which uses philosophical enquiry to enhance the thinking, learning, and language skills of students of all ages and abilities," according to the author. He first discusses the foundations of the "philosophy for children" movement in the work of American academic Mathew Lipman. Bringing in examples from his research in primary schools in the UK, he then discusses a range of applications in various areas of learning, answering questions related to planning, facilitating, and assessing programs.
