Overview
This work scrutinizes the place of technology in economic models of industrial development. Through an interdisciplinary analysis, it presents the major theoretical systems, highlighting various characteristics of technological change. Using six case studies, the models of the first half of the book are tested in an examination of a single industry in Germany, Italy, and the United States; and a study of a single nation.
