Synopsis

Monumental epic poem of Aeneas, a Trojan who escaped the burning ruins of Troy to found a new city in the west — Rome.

The New York Times Book Review

A new and noble standard bearer . . . There's a capriciousness to Fagles's line well suited to this vast story's ebb and flow.
