Library Journal
Wilson is a British journalist and author of several investigative books, including Jesus: The Evidence ( LJ 3/1/85). Here he looks at all types of claims of after death experiences: past life memories, spiritual mediums, ghost sightings, and tales of resuscitated patients. He views all with a skeptical eye and is quick to point out and debunk fraud and dubious research when he finds it. For this very reason, he is a reliable witness when presenting claims that seem authentic. His approach is objective but sympathetic, and he has collected a wealth of interesting material. In the end he admits that he has found nothing that he would consider real proof, but he also says: ``We may not have proved that there is some form of after death experience, but perhaps we have at least furnished sufficient evidence for the issue to be taken seriously.'' Recommended for public libraries.-- C. Robert Nixon, M.L.S., Lafayette, Ind.Book Details
