Thomas Bulfinch (1796-1867) was an American writer. He supported himself through his position at the Merchants' Bank of Boston. Although Thomas Bulfinch reorganized Psalms to illustrate the history of the Hebrews, he is best known as the author of Bulfinch's Mythology, an 1881 compilation of his previous works: The Age of Fable (1855), The Age of Chivalry (1858) and Legends of Charlemagne (1863). The Bulfinch myths are an indispensable guide to the cultural values of the American 19th century and is still the version being taught in many American public schools. Amongst his other works are Shakespeare Adapted for Reading Classes (1865) and Oregon and Eldorado (1866).Book Details
