Library Journal

From pull toys to boxes to clocks, this bulky book contains plans for assembling 150 simple woodworking projects. Unfortunately, quantity does not guarantee quality. While some projects are cute, others are quite unattractive and crude, with bleeding paint and rough edges. In addition, there are illustrations that don't match the supply list and instructions. It is almost as if the Nelsons, authors of several other woodworking books, rushed to meet a deadline and got sloppy in the process. Turn to the many better woodworking books available, among them The Complete Book of Woodworking: Detailed Plans for More Than 40 Fabulous Projects. An optional purchase.
