Overview
The saga continues as William Drexler III stumbles upon a secret that unleashes his darkest memories and Viktor von Strassenberg fights to keep his own secrets hidden from those who need the truth most. From Refracted Light Reviews:
Ever since I finished Filter, the first book in The von Strassenberg Saga, I’ve been DYING for the second. Gwenn is fantastic at weaving and pacing complex, intriguing mysteries, and she has such a gorgeous and lovely writing style. So… she asked me to beta read about 150 pages of The BlueStocking Girl for her last week, and let me tell ya’ll… the sequel is TOTALLY worth the wait. And if you’re wondering why I’m still waiting on it, well… she only gave me the middle. Yup. I didn’t get to read the very beginning AND I’m most certainly didn’t get to read the end… and I’m on pins and needles to find out what happens!
For those of you wondering, “Just what is the von Strassenberg Saga?” Well. Let me tell you. It’s a dark mystery that encompasses three families, the von Strassenbergs, the Demures and the Drexlers; secrets, betrayal, romance and tragedy abound. Gwenn artfully navigates multiple narrators as they tell their stories over several generations and as their experiences begin to form a cohesive picture of the secrets that surround these three families. It’s fascinating. It sucks you in. And while not a paranormal book, it does have elements of the gothic and strange. ***If you ordered Bluestocking prior to 12/23 be sure to upload the latest version for improvements and an added author's note!*** (Thanks to my wonderful and faithful readers, you make a mighty team of editors!)

It's always so hard for me to review books in the middle of a series because I fear spoilers...majorly. Ever since highschool when someone spoiled A Separate Peace (not that I would have enjoyed it anyway but still) I am scared stiff to do that to someone else. So, if my review lacks that certain "Heatherish, girly squealing" it is not by any means a reflection on the quality of this novel because WOW, Mrs. Wright, you have blown me away...again. Bluestocking Girl is an incredible follow up to FGoodreads -
I am a huge fan of the Von Strassenberg Saga, as well as the author's fantastic writing style. The BlueStocking Girl did not disappoint-in fact, I think I liked it even more than Filter! I really loved how well the book flowed through the different point-of-views. I am definetly loving the new witty young lady in the book. I think she is absolutely adorable and has quickly become one of my favorite literally charters. Just like with the first book in the saga, I ended up canceling plans just soGoodreads -
Another book left me yearning for more. I will admit the first few chapters with the different time zones do take a bit of adjusting to, but Gwenn's style of writing soon draws you into the chapters. Reading on a kindle i did miss the ability of flicking back and refreshing myself with the characters but the further into the book and especially near the end the characters are very much individual people. I think the Von Strassenberg Saga is a brilliant collection. I have never been as hooked onGoodreads -
Unexpected. This book went in a direction I did not expect. I was ready to learn more about Rocky, but this book was a delightful surprise. I'm not sure if the rest of the series will continue in this direction, but I do like how it is going at this time. William is a very intense character and to learn more about his family history and how it is converging with Rockys' history is wonderful. You are left in suspense in the end as to what will happen to Will and if he will continue to dig deeperBook Details
