Gr 3-5The Boston Tea Party, a much misunderstood occurrence in the history of the U.S., is ably described in this well-written look at the circumstances surrounding the night of December 16, 1773. The people behind the events are introduced, especially Samuel Adams as he deftly leads the citizens of Boston into no-turning-back action against the British tea ships. The book is attractively laid out with a large-print text and numerous, well-placed, black-and-white and color reproductions of engravings and paintings. A visually appealing and clearly conveyed piece of history.Eunice Weech, M. L. King Elementary School, Urbana, IL
