Synopsis
Dramatic changes in curriculum in the UK since publication of the first edition in 1977 have been reflected in each subsequent edition of Kelly's text. In the fifth edition, Kelly continues to emphasize the fundamental principles of curriculum and curriculum planning, while also examining the negative effects of taking planning and control away from professional educators and placing it in the hands of politicians and others who lack the background and expertise to bring about effective reform. Kelly draws on the experience of England and Wales as "a paradigm of what should be avoided in educational planning." The author's credentials are not stated.
