Synopsis

At 17 years old, Mike spotted the car in a garage in Connecticut and drove her home to Lewistown, Montana. When he joined the Army, the '41 Dodge D-19 Luxury Liner convertible was abandoned and laid to rest in a rancher's coulee. Mike longed, and connived; he strategized and twenty years later risked everything, maneuvering the impossible to resurrect and restore his beloved Dodge to her original glory. Together forever, their life stories are as inseparable and dazzling as the dual carburetors of her 1980 Jaguar XJ6 with a GM turbo 400 transmission. Their messsage is about commitment, perseverance and love. It is about the inner urgencies that guide human behavior toward a balance of life--metal and man softened by nature, passion and adversity. How does the man-car duo adapt to their advancing ages and combined disabilities and emerge transformed and triumphant? Mike's wife, Anne, studied French cooking, owned two restaurants and a B&B. For over 30 years she has been a daring accomplice and advocate in the lives of both the Dodge and her husband.
