Synopsis

Children's Literature
Mike and his dog Harry share a special bond. They communicate by reading each other's mind. During a game of catch, Harry bites another dog who takes off with the ball. As a precaution, Mike's mom informs him that Harry must stay at home when Mike goes to play baseball the next day. She doesn't want Harry biting anyone at the ballpark. Mike is disappointed because Harry telepathically encourages Mike during the games. This particular game is against the number one team, and Mike needs Harry's support. Read to find out what happens during the important game. Although the book is not divided into chapters, the complexity of the story is more in line with a chapter book than an early reader. There are several illustrations throughout the book. Some young readers may need a few break points during the story. This story is part of the "Matt Christopher Sport Readers" series which feature additional adventures of Mike and Harry. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung
