Library Journal
Vicker, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, discusses the financial aspects of retirement planning, emphasizing in vestments, pensions, and Social Securi ty. His message is sound: start early, don't pin all your hopes on Social Secu rity, and use tax-deferred investments (such as IRAs) as much as possible. He presents a wealth of detailed and current information, which may overwhelm some readers. When the book bogs down in this complex subject, as it sometimes does, Vicker is quick to fol low up with realistic examples which do a good job of clarifying the text. The appendix includes financial tables and helpful addresses. Recommended for accurate, up-to-date treatment of a timely subject. Wendy Allex, Central Arkansas Lib. System, Little RockBook Details
