School Library Journal

Gr 7 Up-- A debate resource that offers a good deal of material on the poisoning of the atmosphere and health problems associated with the use of pesticides, cleaning compounds, and industrial compounds used in manufacturing. It also includes the responses of certain industrial think-tanks and consultants denying such dangers. The subject of alternative fuels is less adequately handled and is in some ways incomplete, suggesting that only food resources can be used to produce ethanol. While not top-rate, this book has a place where active debate teams need this sort of material in abundance.-- Elizabeth Morrissett, Alaska State Lib . , Juneau
