Overview

When he wasn’t trekking the globe as a war correspondent, Davis produced works of fiction that earned him enormous popularity in his day. Published in 1894, Exiles and Other Stories collected such stories as, “The Other Woman,” “The Last Ride Together,” the title story, and more. In all six he draws upon his world travels in exciting tales of adventure and daring.


About the Author, Richard Harding Davis

Richard Harding Davis (1864–1916) American journalist, war correspondent, short-story writer, playwright, and novelist. He worked in politics as well as fashion. He is best known for his colorful firsthand accounts as a war correspondent in six wars including the Spanish-American War, the Greco-Turkish War, the Boer War, and World War I. His well-known works include Soldiers of Fortune and Gallegher and Other Stories.
