Overview
Recently, my wife and I read Wendy Alec's new book, The Fall of Lucifer. Neither of us can remember a work that touched us deeper. In fact, my wife is buying copies and sending them to friends as gifts! As intriguing as Mrs Alec's description of the pre-creation universe happens to be, it is merely staging for the greater story: the fall of Lucifer. The development of Lucifer character and his descent into evil is absolutely brilliant. Yet, even more poignant is her presentation of Christ. Both Denise and I found that our love for God became more consuming as a result of this book. It will open spiritual dimensions to your heart. Indeed, everyone I know who read it has come away closer to Jesus Christ.Editorials

The Barnes & Noble ReviewThe Fall of Lucifer, the first release in the Realms imprint line (whose mission is to fill a gap in Christian publishing and produce faith-based, "visionary" supernatural fiction), revolves around the relationship between God's three great angelic regents -- Michael, the warrior; Gabriel, the revelator; and Lucifer, the light-bearer -- and chronicles the epic origins of Evil.
During the eternity before the creation of humankind, all celestial beings existed in perfect harmony. But when Yehovah announces His intention to create a flesh-and-blood race of beings in His own image, Lucifer takes the venture as a betrayal of the angelic race, and soon doubt, anger, and jealousy begin to drive the heavenly Father and his beloved viceroy apart. When Lucifer eventually gives in to his dark desires, he is exiled to Earth, where he sets his depraved sights on vengeance against Yehovah. The newly crowned Satan's aim is simple: to obliterate the human race.
Comparable to spiritual-themed, thought-provoking novels like Walter M. Miller Jr.'s A Canticle for Leibowitz, Kim Stanley Robinson's The Years of Rice and Salt, and Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen's Heaven, Alec's The Fall of Lucifer is as enlightening as it is entertaining. And whether or not reading this religious fantasy turns out to be a life-changing experience, it will most definitely fuel hours of speculation and fiery debate among those who read it. "Alec's "quasi-fictional" story is a behind-the-scenes look at Lucifer and his role in our history. ...Evil--and the depths it will go to--has always been a mystery to me. And right up there along with that, is the ultimate questions: Why would a being that dwelt with God, as one of His beloved, turn against Him?...The Fall of Lucifer addresses those two conundrums eloquently, in almost poetic terms. The transformation of Lucifer from devoted lover of God to evil destroyer of all things good, is presented in vivid, passionate terms that manage to bring you to the cusp of empathy for Lucifer--for a moment at least."Book Details
