Overview

In this instructive and beguiling book Andrew Mitchell, an enthusiastic British naturalist with five previous books to his credit, takes us on a journey of discovery through on of the glorious features of the world: the islands of the South Pacific. His essays consist of four segments artistically intertwined: a travelogue through the islands, brief glimpses of their history, skilled explanations of their natural phenomena, and thirty-nine carefully selected color photographs which depict the land and its wildlife occupants.
