Synopsis
This text is the first volume in a planned series on The Future of Learning, based on multidisciplinary discussions contributing to the education of children and adults of all ages worldwide. The text is based on a workshop held at Bagnols, France, attended by educational practitioners, technologists, brain scientists and cognitive psychologists. Eleven international specialists contribute 12 chapters in which they identify factors in the current crisis in education; report on some innovative projects; survey recent results in cognitive neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and education psychology; and examine the potential uses of broadband and mass media to support education.
