Overview

Gupta plunges us deep into the tumultous psyche of her heroine, a brilliant young woman whose mind is more alive to possibilities than wary of consequences. Educated and well traveled, she is beginning to map out the course of her life, but there are those who would impose their own agendas upon her. Marrying, settling into a home, and assuming the guardianship of an orphaned niece seem to promise a satisfying and rewarding future, but these acts demand fateful choices that lead to startling consequences - with little room for human frailities. Struggling with mounting expectations and guilt, her once sure footing in question, she becomes lost in labyrinthine paths and blocked roads.
