Charles W. Kegley, Jr., Pierce Professor of International Relations at the University of South Carolina, earned his Ph.D. in international relations from Syracuse University in 1971. Dr. Kegley was President of the International Studies Association from 1993-1994, has taught at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, the University of Texas, and served as the Moses and Annuta Back Peace Scholar at Rutgers University. Dr. Kegley has co-authored or co-edited (with Eugene Wittkopf) American Foreign Policy: Pattern and Process (1995); World Politics: Trend and Transformation (2000); The Nuclear Reader: Strategy, Weapons, War (1989); co-authored (with Gregory A. Raymond) How Nations Make Peace (1999); A Multi-Polar Peace? Great-Power Relations in the Twenty-First Century (1994); and When the Trust Breaks Down: Alliance Norms and World Politics (1990).

Eugene R. Wittkopf is R. Downs Poindexter Professor of Political Science at Louisiana State University. A past president of the Florida Political Science Association and of the International Studies Association/South, he has also held appointments at the University of Florida and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wittkopf is the author of Faces of Internationalism: Public Opinion and Amrican Foreign Policy (Duke University Press, 1990) and the editor of The Future of American Foreign Policy (St. Martin’s Press, 1994) and The Domestic Sources of American Foreign Policy (St. Martin’s Press, 1994).
