Gr 4-7-With the millennium approaching, the subject of time as it relates to the year 2000 will be popular among students. This fact-filled book touches on a variety of topics such as seasons, timekeepers, centuries, calendars, time zones, longitude, and more. However, the busy layout may leave readers confused as to where to go next. A mixed bag of fonts also lends to the disorganized appearance on some of the pages. Headings, subheadings, and captions appear beside good-quality full-color photographs, paintings, maps, charts-whatever best represents or expands upon the topic on each double-page spread. The text is enlivened by interesting tidbits of historical information. This book looks and reads like an "Eyewitness Book." Students will use it as an introduction to the subject and as an entertaining browsing item.-Carrie Lynn Cooper, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond Copyright 1999 Cahners Business Information.
