Publishers Weekly

Bestsellers Swinson (Wifey) and Diamond (Desperate Hoodwives) team up for two tales abut high society, low crime, and the powerful, independent women who make ruthless use of both. When wealthy gunrunner Todd gets busted in Swinson's "The Ultimate Heist," a cell mate persuades him to rob a strip club owner--using Todd's beautiful wife as bait--so he can get money for attorney's fees. Diamond's "Robyn Banks" follows a DEA agent known as both Jordan and Robyn through a complicated drug bust and even more complicated relationship with handsome, mysterious Keston. A side plot introduces Jordan's aging father, Jonathan, a member of a now-retired robber quartet. Diamond's hairpin plot twists, snappy dialogue, sultry sex scenes, and colorful, often hilarious characters keep the pages turning; in contrast, unlikable, shallow characters and a baffling plot twist makes Swinson's contribution a slog. (Dec.)

Library Journal - BookSmack!

Swinson and Diamond each offer novellas about getting rich quick by pulling off a big heist. In Swinson's "The Ultimate Heist," Shannon is the wife of gangster Todd Marshall, who's busted for having an AK-47. He's been set up; in prison he and his celly Dray hatch a plot to have Shannon seduce and rob Bobby Knight, an owner of strip clubs around Norfolk, VA. Rumor has it there's Pablo Escobar-type money to be stolen. We know that can't end well. Diamond's "Robyn Banks" is more than a catchy title. Jordan Hayes is a female DEA agent who falls for walking, talking sexual fantasy Keston. Nobody is on the up and up, especially Jordan's elderly father, who is The Jackal, an expert thief from the 1980s. Toss in $500 million of cocaine, and the stakes are upped, leading to that old street lit bugaboo, betrayal.Verdict Getting two of street lit's top authors for the price of one is hard to beat. The crime is thrilling, the slang is spot-on, and oooh, la, la, these women certainly write hot sex scenes. The five-page session of Jordan and Keston's hookup is toe-curlingly erotic. Unseen twists and turns pop up throughout both stories and would make Alfred Hitchcock proud. Expect high demand. Rollie Welch, "The Word on the Street Lit", Booksmack! 10/21/10
