Children's Literature - Paula McMillen

This is another well-designed and competently written book in the "We the People" series. Like other volumes from this publisher, supplemental material is above average with a timeline, glossary, micro-biographies of key people, fast facts, an index, suggested resources, and additional teaching resources on a dedicated web site. Both the events leading up to the "Final Solution" and the process of creating the museum as an act of remembrance are clearly, if briefly, chronicled and accompanied by numerous photographs. This is certainly an appropriate introduction to Holocaust studies for upper elementary students and may well stimulate sufficient curiosity to read further about some of the people, places, or events described. Reviewer: Paula McMillen, Ph.D.
