About the Authors
HAL JACKSON has been on the radio since the late 1930's and is host and executive producer of Sunday Classics, heard on new York's 107.5, WBLS. He is Group Chairman of Inner City Broadcasting and executive Producer and Host of his Talented Teens International competition. He lives in New York City with his wife, Debra.

JAMES HASKINS is a professor of English at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and lives in New York City. He has written more than one hundred books. In 1994 the Washington Post Children's Book Guild presented him with its annual award for "body of work in nonfiction for young adults." His latest books include The Headless Haunt and Other African-American Ghost Stories, The Scottsboro Boys, and Freedom Rides. He is general editor of the Hippocrene Great Religions of the World Series and was general editor of The Filipino Nation.
