School Library Journal

Gr 4-7 Like Book One, this volume contains lots of questions that kids are likely to ask, or at least find intriguing. Generally scientific in nature, the topics explored cover a full range of subjects, from ``do pets watch TV?'' to ``is there such a thing as stardust?'' Answers are concise, ranging from one to three paragraphs, and often contain interesting asides, such as the explanation of moonbows touched upon in a question about rainbows. The tone is conversational, but never condescending, and kids will find it enjoyable as well as informative. With a few exceptions, each double-page spread has a large color photograph related to at least one of the questions, supplemented by humorous full-color drawings. A complete index is appended. A good choice for booktalks, or to display in the browsing collection. Denise L. Moll, Lone Pine Elementary School, West Bloomfield, Mich.
